TechCrunchが、アメリカで人気のある21のTwitter関連のWebアプリに関して、月間のユニークユーザ数を調査したそうです。調査はアメリカのインターネット調査会社Compete。

調査結果から、Twitpicがダントツの多さで、1,236,828人。2位のTweetdeckと比べると4倍近くの差が出ています。

さて、この原文の中で少し気になったのがこの一文。

Interestingly, two of the top twenty apps - Digsby and Hellotxt, an application that allows users to update their status across social networks - are not exclusively focused on Twitter. We recently wrote a detailed post on why we cover Twitter-related news so often, and we think the fact that there are so many applications developed as an offshoot of the microblogging system is another testament to the fact that Twitter is not just another startup. This is our attempt to figure out which ones are gaining the most traction.

このDigsbyとHellotxtは、他のTwitterアプリと違い、Twitter専用アプリというわけではなくて、他のSocial Media系のサービスをクロスしてフィードしてくれるそうです。
確かに他のアプリはTwitterに特化しています。今後、このようなクロスフィードなアプリが増えていくのでしょうか？

タイトルではTwitter Application Top 21となっていたんですが、22になっている模様。モレがあったんでしょうか。

僕はと言うと、1位のTwitpicと2位のTweetdeck、あと5位のTwitterfeedと15位のTweetburnerは使ったことがあったのですが、残りは全く聴いたこともありませんでした。



ちなみにTwitterクライアントアプリの方の調査も同時に行っていたようです。

こちらは、FriendFeedやTwitterFox、mobile webなど、日本でもよく使われているのを見るクライアントも見られます。txtって一体なんでしょうか。。

日本でもTwitやTween、movaｔwitterやPeraPeraPrvなど、日本独自のTwitter WebサービスやTwitterクライアントがありますが、利用者比率はどんな感じなんでしょうね？
